Ohio State University, Class of 2019

“Choosing to go to the Ohio State University was one of the best decisions I have ever made. In a school of over 50,000 undergrads, I am constantly surprised by how well OSU has provided for me as an individual. College is a hard transition, as is moving over 400 miles away from your hometown, but I have never felt more welcomed than I do at Ohio State.

Many of my professors took the time to get to know not only my name, but where I was from, what I was studying, and what they could do to help me succeed. Beyond a great experience in the classroom, Ohio State, like most universities, is full of time-tested traditions and school pride.Buckeyes compete, learn, explore, discover, and give back like no other school in this country.

Whether I am cheering on our football team in Ohio Stadium, donating blood to save lives, or lighting candles to celebrate the holidays on campus, I can truly say that I am so proud to be a Buckeye.”

"My first semester at UNC Wilmington was very enjoyable. Of course, living ten minutes from the beach had some influence on my experience but the school itself contributed more to my happiness. UNC Wilmington is the perfect size for me because it is big enough that I meet new people all the time but small enough that I get to know my professors personally. The campus is beautiful and nicely maintained and there are several options for dining. One drawback to my experience is the lack of a football team because I think going to football games is very fun, but this aspect does not matter to every potential student."

University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Class of 2019

"As my summer loomed, I was uncertain where I would attend college in the fall. Having been wait-listed at five highly regarded universities, I finally received a phone call in early June notifying me of my acceptance to Emory University. It was an easy choice at that point, I knew I had my sights set on Emory.

So far, my Emory experience has been an extremely positive one. There is a great balance of academics and social life. People like to have fun on the weekends but know when to be discipline and hit the books, and they understand that school comes first. The courses are challenging but certainly not impossible. Probably my number one favorite thing about the university has to be the amazing people there. There is a wonderful sense of community on campus. People are just universily kind and will help you out with anything you need, whether that be giving directions, advice on courses, or just being your friend. I have made some amazing friends in only one semester and I feel as if I'm already closer with my college friends than with people I have known for years.

Emory University, Class of 2019

Not only is the university itself great, the city of Atlanta is wonderful as well. Since coming here, I have been to multiple concerts, including Kendrick Lamar, been to Braves and Hawks games, and even enjoyed a fun day at the highly regarded Georgia aquarium. Not to mention the warm weather for the majority of the year. There is so much to do on and off campus, making Emory everything I had hoped for in a college.

Perhaps the only downfall is the lack of a major sports program. Emory is Division III, and we don't necessarily have the best school spirit when it comes to our athletic programs. But that's just a very small negative in what is overall a great university, and between its rigorous academics, very open and inclusive social life, abundance of off campus activities, ideal location, and close knit community, I would strongly recommend Emory University for anyone seeking a higher education."

Spelman College, Class of 2019

Attending Spelman College has to be one of the greatest things I've done so far. Spelman, the number one historically black college in the nation, is full of amazing opportunities and I learn a tremendous amount everyday. One of the amazing experiences I just participated in was a paid trip to New Your City to see a Broadway musical, talk with the cast and talk to The Public Theater. The trip was meant to connect the humanities and art, which is one of the purposes of a liberal arts education. This is just one of the many opportunities offered at Spelman College.

In general, college is very different than high school, but it is an amazing experience both inside and outside of the classroom. Living in Atlanta Georgia is absolutely amazing because there is always something going on. From movies being filmed, concerts, celebrities and downtown Atlanta there is so much to experience. College as of yet has been a great experience and I am quite excited to see what is yet to come.
